Why upgrade your dashcam’s firmware ?

Firmware upgrades may add functionalities to your dashcam, and/or improve its performance.

How to upgrade ?

Using an iOS or Android device: download the SAFY App to use FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) to conveniently update your device without taking out the microSD card.Using a Windows or Mac OS computer: follow the steps below.

  1. Access the SAFY Website: (safydirect.com/pages/firmware)from your computer browser.
  2. Download the latest firmware for your model from the DOWNLOADS page (this page)
  3. Unzip the downloaded firmware (Zip file)
  4. Insert the SAFY SD card in your computer using the USB reader.
  5. Before copying the SAFY file, please make sure that the MicroSD card is formatted as FAT32.
  6. Copy the SAFY file to the root (top-level) folder of the microSD card.
  7. Insert the microSD card in your SAFY dashcam and turn the power on to apply the upgrade
  8. The dashcam will reboot automatically after applying the upgrade, and start recording.

About microSD cards

Please note that if you do not use a genuine SAFY microSD card, issues may occur and the warranty may not be supported.
